PushNews Alternative: Cut Recurring Push Costs With LaraPush

Looking for a PushNews alternative? Compare PushNews monthly pricing with LaraPush one-time licence, team sending, subscriber migration and support.

The best PushNews alternative for sites with large subscriber lists is a self-hosted panel such as LaraPush. You pay once, from $499, instead of a monthly fee that climbs with every subscriber tier. Your subscriber data stays on your own server, and LaraPush offers a Migration Add-on for moving the subscribers you already have.

PushNews (pushnews.com.br) is a Brazilian marketing platform run by Pushnews Ltda in Porto Alegre and Pushweb Lda in Porto, Portugal. It bundles web push with OnSite Popups, email, SMS and cart recovery. That bundle suits some stores well. However, if push is your main channel and your list is growing, the monthly bill is usually what sends people looking for a PushNews alternative. Below I compare cost, team access, migration and support, using only what each company publishes.

Why do people look for a PushNews alternative?

Most people look for a PushNews alternative for four reasons: the recurring cost, how many people can work in the account, the fear of losing subscribers when switching, and support response times. Cost is the one you can measure, so I start there.

  • Recurring cost: PushNews bills push every month by active subscribers, so the price rises as your list grows.
  • Team access: editors, marketers and agencies all want to send campaigns without sharing one password.
  • Migration: web push subscribers are tied to the service that collected them, so switching needs a plan.
  • Support: when a campaign is time-sensitive, you want to know how fast you’ll get help.

How much does PushNews cost compared with LaraPush?

PushNews charges a monthly subscription based on your total active push subscribers on the renewal date, while LaraPush is a one-time purchase. According to the PushNews pricing page (checked 3 November 2026), push starts at R$110 a month for up to 2,000 subscribers and reaches R$4,047 a month at 1 million.

Sends are unlimited on PushNews, which is fair. That said, its pricing FAQ explains that when you pass a tier, you move to the next one automatically and pay that price. So a successful site pays more every time the list grows.

Active push subscribersPushNews per month (BRL)PushNews per year (BRL)PushNews over 3 years (BRL)
10,000R$325R$3,900R$11,700
100,000R$1,173R$14,076R$42,228
500,000R$2,510R$30,120R$90,360
1,000,000R$4,047R$48,564R$145,692

The yearly and 3-year columns are simply the monthly price multiplied out, assuming the list stays at that size. In addition, the Cart Recovery add-on costs extra at every tier (for example, +R$469 a month at 100,000 subscribers).

LaraPush works differently. The Startup plan is $499 one-time and Pro is $799 one-time, with unlimited subscribers, domains and campaigns on one server. Check LaraPush pricing for the current price in your currency. You also pay for your own VPS, because LaraPush runs on your server. For a wider look at flat-fee options, see push notification services with a one-time payment.

Can more than one person send push notifications?

Yes, on both, but in different ways. PushNews’s help center has an account settings section for managing users and access, and PushNews offers SAML single sign-on on request. So before you switch for this reason alone, check what your current PushNews account already allows.

With LaraPush, the panel runs on your server and you set the admin credentials yourself during setup. For publishing teams, the free LaraPush WordPress plugin adds a “Who can send notifications” setting. As a result, your editors can send push from the WordPress dashboard they already log in to, without ever touching the panel password.

When I evaluate a tool for a team, I check one thing first: who needs to send, and from where. If your writers live in WordPress, the plugin route covers most needs. However, if you need separate panel accounts with their own roles, ask the LaraPush team before you buy, because the public pages don’t document panel user roles.

How does migration from PushNews to LaraPush work?

Migration is the hardest part of switching any web push provider, because each subscription is tied to the service worker and the VAPID keys that created it. The Push API links each subscription to an application server key, and RFC 8292 defines how that key identifies the sender. In short, you can’t just copy a list of emails.

LaraPush offers a Migration Add-on for moving subscribers from other web push services to the LaraPush Pro panel. To use it, you contact the LaraPush team directly. LaraPush also supports CSV import and export and token import, so your data stays portable once it’s on your server.

I won’t promise a zero-loss move, because results depend on what your old provider lets you export. So ask PushNews two questions before you start: can you export subscriber tokens, and can you get the VAPID keys your site uses? If you want the technical background, my post on what VAPID keys are explains why they matter.

How to plan the switch

  1. Ask PushNews whether you can export subscriber tokens and your VAPID keys.
  2. Contact LaraPush about the Migration Add-on and share what you can export.
  3. Set up a VPS and claim LaraPush’s free installation from the customer portal.
  4. Add your site, its Firebase configuration and the new service worker or WordPress plugin.
  5. Send a test campaign to a small segment before you cancel PushNews.
  6. Cancel PushNews by email, as its pricing FAQ describes, once the new panel is live.

What support do you get with each?

PushNews advertises “Apoio 100% em português” (100% Portuguese-language support), and its help center lists chat and email ([email protected]). It doesn’t publish a response-time target, so I can’t tell you how fast it is. The 14-day free trial is the best time to test that yourself.

LaraPush includes free installation and onboarding. Support runs through [email protected], the support portal, and Telegram. The Startup plan includes 6 months of support and Pro includes 12 months.

There’s one honest trade-off for Brazilian teams. LaraPush support hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 IST, which is 00:30 to 09:30 in Brasília time. So urgent questions in your afternoon will usually be answered the next morning.

On iOS, Apple has supported web push for Home Screen web apps since iOS 16.4 (WebKit). So it’s worth asking PushNews whether its FAQ is current.

Where does LaraPush fit, and who should stay with PushNews?

LaraPush fits publishers, bloggers and agencies whose main channel is web push and whose lists are large or growing. You trade a monthly bill for a one-time licence and a VPS you manage. Above all, the bigger your list, the more that trade favours a one-time fee.

However, LaraPush isn’t for everyone. The licence covers one server, there’s no free plan, and major version upgrades are paid and optional. If you rely on PushNews’s popups, email, SMS or cart recovery in one dashboard, you’d need separate tools for those. For more options, see my list of the best push notification services and tools, or what to do if a push provider shuts down.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best PushNews alternative?

For sites where web push is the main channel, a self-hosted panel like LaraPush is a strong PushNews alternative. It costs from $499 one-time instead of a monthly fee by subscriber tier, keeps subscriber data on your server, and has no subscriber limit. If you need popups, email and SMS in one tool, compare other SaaS platforms instead.

How much does PushNews cost per month?

As of 3 November 2026, the PushNews pricing page lists push at R$110 a month for up to 2,000 subscribers, R$1,173 for 100,000 and R$4,047 for 1 million. You’re billed by active subscribers on the renewal date, and the Cart Recovery add-on costs extra.

Can I move my PushNews subscribers to LaraPush?

Possibly. LaraPush offers a Migration Add-on for moving subscribers from other web push services to its Pro panel, and you contact the team to use it. Results depend on what PushNews lets you export, such as subscriber tokens and VAPID keys, so ask both companies before you switch.

Does LaraPush let my team send notifications?

Yes, through WordPress. The free LaraPush plugin has a “Who can send notifications” setting, so editors can send push from the WordPress dashboard without the panel password. If you need separate panel accounts with roles, confirm it with LaraPush before buying, because the public pages don’t document that.

Is LaraPush support available in Brazilian time?

Partly. LaraPush support runs Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 IST, which is 00:30 to 09:30 in Brasília. So you’ll usually get answers in your morning. Support is by email, a support portal and Telegram, with 6 months on Startup and 12 months on Pro.
